English for youth in Cambridge
The world famous university town of Cambridge is one of the first destinations for both English and international students from across the globe. The beauty of its historic city center, the unique atmosphere of its university quarter and its excellent reputation are unequaled. This cosmopolitan and dynamic student city offers many activities: visitors have the opportunity to see numerous museums and art galleries, the beautiful cathedral, Newmarket, Saint Mary’s Church with its famous clock and its excellent view of the entire city, the Theater of Arts and much more. Students can stroll down Cambridge’s medieval streets and alleys, its many parks or take boat trips on the river. Many markets and festivals complete the experience and make Cambridge a lively, pleasant environment for students and residents alike.Cambridge is a green, amiable and safe city, and an ideal location for youth who wish to discover the English language and culture in this prestigious location.
Courses
Students take an assessment test upon arrival in Cambridge and are placed in an appropriate level. The groups have a maximum of 15 students from around 40 nationalities. The school offers a choice between two programs:- General English : 20 lessons per week
- Intensive English : 30 lessons per week
Accommodation
- Residence
The residences are situated in the center of Cambridge, some 10 minutes by foot from the school. To ensure student safety, they are taken to school by a supervisor. The residence includes:- Full-board (three meals per day)
- Private or shared rooms, depending on student age. The rooms are equipped with a closet, sink, desks with lamps, a bed and mirror.
- The rooms are cleaned once a week. Sheets are provided and changed weekly. Students should bring their own towels.
Residences are full for the month of August - Host Families
The families are carefully selected and regularly inspected by our local correspondent. Families live in the residential quarters around Cambridge.
The students are provided full-board (breakfast and an evening meal with the family, midday meals in the city) and are in shared rooms. The families do student’s laundry once a week. The students must take public transport to school (max 45 minutes).
Activities
Outside of classes during the afternoons and evenings, students can participate in cultural and recreational activities, organized and supervised by the school. Activities may include bowling, karaoke, shopping, excursions, picnics, museum visits, rock climbing, etc…Dates 2010
