English through Sports
Accommodation and Meals Options and Activities Prices and Travel
This school provides a unique combination of sports camp and English lessons, that you will not find anywhere else in the world. At our two beautiful and well-equipped campuses, students will practice their sport of choice under the tutelage of some of the best coaches in the world. Furthermore, since most of the pupils at the school are English and all courses are conducted in English, the practical opportunities to improve the language are limitless. The Language Courses
We understand the importance and benefits for today’s youth to study and traveling in a foreign country. That is why we have put together a language learning experience aimed at creating confidence in speaking a second language. Students receive 25 hours of instruction per program (lessons are taught in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the choice of sports). At the beginning of each program students are assessed and placed into groups based on their ability. Students are constantly surrounded by English kids, giving them an important incentive to learn.
Throughout the years, the teachers have developed a very dynamic and unique approach towards English language teaching, using students’ interests to draw them into the lesson and make learning more enjoyable and relevant. We believe that when students are involved in their learning process, they are usually more interested and committed. That is why, wherever possible, we involve students in deciding what they need to learn.
This camp is unique in that it is the only junior summer camp where international and English students are placed together in the same activity program, in an environment where English is in constant use; social activities and sports coaching are all conducted in English.
The Sports Program
Our staff ensure that children of all abilities can practice a sport properly and safely, encouraging both interest and talent in a fun environment.Whether a complete beginner or experienced in their chosen sport, each child receives expert instruction from hand-picked coaches, including international players and full time professionals.
Each coaching program lasts for one week, children can opt to specialize in more than one sport if they stay for more than one week.
Each child will leave the program with a signed certificate from the coach, and perhaps one of the camp’s special awards.
In recent years we have been lucky enough to attract some high-profile coaches to our camps. They have taken various roles from coaching individual sessions to running the program full-time. We hope that we can welcome them back this year.
Options
This program offers three options to participants:- Sports & Language Option
For international students, three hours of daily sports coaching is mixed with two and half hours of expert language instruction, helping children increase their knowledge of the language and encouraging them to put it to use during their athletic training. The sports available for this program include tennis, football, golf, hockey, rugby, dance, basketball and horse riding. - Multi-Sports Option
This program enables students to cover two or more sports in their time. Students spend up to three hours a day focusing on one sport (in the morning), while the rest of the day (in the afternoon) is divided between one or two others.
In the morning, you can choose from tennis, golf, hockey, football, horse riding, dance, rugby and basketball. In the afternoons, you can choose from football, basketball, volleyball, golf, tennis, squash, biking and canoeing. - Sports Academy
This program is specifically designed to be a combination of intense coaching, practice and competition.
