Residential English in Southampton

Trave to Southampton

Our summer camp takes place on the campus of the University, in the heart of Southampton, a growing and particularly dynamic city. The city boasts a particularly rich and interesting cultural and historical environment and is one of the United Kingdom’s greenest cities.  With one of the country’s largest and most popular shopping districts on the waterfront, Southampton is also an ideal starting point from which to discover London and the Southern coast’s attractions, such as Winchester, Bournemouth, Brighton or New Forest.  Our campus in Southampton is situated to allow students to profit from these numerous attractions.

The Campus

The campus layout allows students to have their classes, meals and accommodation all within close proximity of each other.  Thanks to its location in the center of the city, students can also easily visit Southampton’s principal attractions by foot.
The campus is equipped with a modern and well-lit cafeteria, spacious classrooms, a vast sports hall and a theater equipped for film screenings or other events.  The school also organizes numerous activities for younger participants, such as outings and an evening at a local disco.

The Courses

This Summer Camp Program is intended for youth aged 12 to 17.
Courses are designed to accommodate different ability levels (6 levels, from beginner to advanced) and each class has an average of 12 students (maximum 15).
The weekly program includes 20 lessons of 50 minutes each.
Students receive their course book upon arrival as well as numerous other materials during the classes.  At the end of their stay, they receive a certificate of participation detailing their progress and achievements.

Accommodation

Students are lodged in individual rooms with a private bath.  The rooms are located in a modern residence, near an peaceful park and is just a couple of minutes by foot to the main campus.
The residence offers a common room equipped with television, billiard table and vending machines and is a perfect spot where students can relax in the company of their new friends.  Students also have access to a laundry facility.
The residence building is very safe: the school personnel is present at all times and there is a permanent guard at the entrance.

Activities

A full activity program enables students to have fun while practicing their English in a international environment.  Students who participate in this program have one full-day and one half-day excursion per week:
  • Full-day excursions include: London, Oxford, Brighton, Bath or the Isle of Wight
  • Half-day excursions include: Winchester, New Forest, Bournemouth or Stonehenge.
  • Various activities are organized in the afternoons and evenings (sports, bowling, film nights, shopping, music workshops, etc).
