American Summer Camp
This summer program is designed to bring youth from across the globe together to improve their English and participate in athletic and cultural activities in a fun and safe environment. The curriculum allows students to learn and practice English, explore a new region of the United States, explore new sports and cultural activities, all while enjoying themselves. Participants are supervised by our motivated professional staff during all activities. The programs are open to all students aged 13 to 19 who are not complete beginners in English and include 20 English lessons per week plus the selected program of activities: surfing, film, dance, golf, excursions etc. The courses are designed for students to improve their knowledge of English language and American culture.Depending on the program selected, students are lodged in double rooms either in host families or in a dormitory. The accommodation includes breakfast and evening meals during the week and breakfast during weekends.
From Monday to Friday, students participate in classes during the morning and other activities during the afternoon. Saturdays, students participate in planned excursions and Sundays are spent with the host families.
Courses are available in California near San Diego (Oceanside) or Los Angeles (Glendora), in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia, or in Boston, Massachusetts.
All program prices include:
- 20 English classes a week, along with chosen activities (including all entrance fees.
- The corresponding accommodation, including half or full board (2 or 3 meals per day) according to the destination.
- Use of campus infrastructure: library, computer lab, sports facilities, etc.
- Professional supervision
- Transportation from the nearest major airport
- All taxes and administrative fees
- A goodbye party
- The flight
- Some lunches according to the destination

Surfing (ages 15 and up)

The Summer Camp Surf takes place in the South of Los Angeles County, along the picture-perfect Californian coast. The popular site of Redondo Beach, where several scenes of tv-series have been shot, will offer you the ideal possibility to surf the great waves of the Pacific. Small-group lessons in surf and surf culture are provided by expert instructors. The English lessons will be provided at Marymount College, a honorable college, located on the top of a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean.- Program
The program consists 20 lessons English per week, 10 lessons of surfing lessons per week on Redondo Beach and excursions to points of interest such as: Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. An actvity program will be organised and will include activities as beach parties and barbecues. The prices include the surfboard rental costs and transportation to the beach. - Accommodation
Students stay in a shared apartment in a well-equipped residence on the Marymount College campus, half-board included. The apartments are fully furnished: the bedroom contains a twinsize bed, desks, dressers and chairs; in the living room there is a couch and a coffee table; the kitchen has a kitchen table with for chairs and also comes with a stove and a refrigerator. The complex has spectacular views of the Los Angeles Harbor.

Cinema (ages 16 and up)

This program is organized to allow students to discover the fascinating process of creating a short film. Students learn with professionals how to write a scene and create storyboards, as well as the basics of how to operate a camera and other technical equipment. After finishing their shoot, students learn the fundamentals of how to use industry-standard software to edit and create a final cut. At the end of the course, students will have the option to screen their film in an exhibition for program participants and will receive a DVD of their film.The three week program also offers students the possibility to discover the secrets of Hollywood through tours of well-known movie studios (Paramount, Warner Brothers and Sony MGM), cinema make-up schools, and the famous neighborhood of Hollywood to maybe even see a movie star! The camp is not solely about film: weekend excursions take students to some of California’s finest natural parks and beaches. Students also have the option to visit some attraction parks, Disneyland and Universal Studios, for a small additional price.

The program includes 20 lessons of English and 8 lessons of movie production per week. Filming sessions are led by instructors, directors and technicians from the University of Columbia. The program also includes screenplay-writing and storyboard workshops, editing sessions and programming excursions. Prices include the camera rental costs and all needed materials. For students with a high level of English it is possible to exchange 20 English lessons for 10 lessons Film Theory and History. - Accommodation

Golf (ages 15 and up)

The Citrus College campus is located near Los Angeles, in southern California, and offers an excellent program for golfers, whether beginners or advanced players.- Program
The program consists of 8 golf lessons per week, adjusted to meet the level of the participants. Experienced instructors offer personalized coaching, allowing students to improve their golfing techniques, as well as discover new ones (driving, putting, chipping, etc.). Prices include the rental of all needed equipment, admission to the golf course and a full round of golf per week.
Guided excursions and evening activities will be organized by group leaders. Optional weekend excursions (like to attraction parks or Hollywood) will be offered for a small additional cost. - Accommodation

Every year the pleasant campus of Mira Costa, located near San Diego, welcomes students from all over the world who are interested in improving their English while practicing their tennis skills.- Program
Experienced instructors guide and motivate students during their 8 tennis lessons a week. Whether a beginner or advanced an player, all participants benefit from personal attention and pointers. The price includes the rental costs for tennis courts and all needed equipment.
Guided excursions and evening activities will be organized by group leaders. Optional weekend excursions (to attraction parks or to Hollywood) are available for a small additional cost. - Accommodation

Dance (ages 15 and up)

With such professional troupes as the Boston Ballet, the Boston Conservatory, the Boston Dance Company, Caitlin Corbett Dance Company, BalletRox, Boston is a city where dance-lovers of all kinds will find happiness. The courses offered by our partner school are highly regarded, intensive, and fun.- Program
Our program gives participants the opportunity to work with experienced, highly qualified instructors in a variety of different domains of dance. Every afternoon (10 lessons a week) students have dance classes in different styles, including ballet, classic dance, jazz, modern dance, funk or hip-hop. Our instructors are familiar with teaching to different levels, from beginners to advanced. All students will improve both their theoretical knowledge and technical skill. The goal of the program is to have fun while learning. The camp ends with a school-wide dance recital and participants receive a filmed copy of the performance.
Classes take place in modern facilities near the University. - Accommodation
Students are accommodated is in recently renovated dormitories, located very near the theaters of Boston, Beacon Hill, and the shopping district of Newbury Street. Half-board is provided.

Basketball (ages 12 to 17)

An invention of the United States in the 19th century, the sport of basketball remains one of the most popular pastimes shared by Americans, as well as young people across the globe. Our three week program at the University of Lock Haven combines daily practice with university team coaches and English courses with other international students. Participants are divided by age into two groups: Juniors (12 to 14 years) and Teens (15 to 17 years).- Program
Every afternoon (10 lessons per week), students train with university coaches to improve their game on all levels: defense, offense, shooting, passing, layups, as well as learning how to work as a team. American students share some of the same classes with international students, thus providing the opportunity to make friends as well as practice the language. Our program also includes an excursion to the city of Philadelphia and to Hershey amusement park. - Accommodation
Sudents are housed in recently-renovated dormitories and half-board is provided.

In this program, students from all over the world come to discover American culture in some of the greatest cities in Southern California, while learning English in small classes taught by highly qualified teachers.- Program
Every afternoon, after morning classes, students participate in excursions to Santa Monica, Pasadena, Hollywood, Beverly Hills or go to the beach to discover the famous California sun and waves. There are also planned excursions to Disneyland and Universal Studios.
English courses are offered at Citrus College, located in the charming city of Glendora, at the foot of the San Gabriel mountains and only a few minutes from Los Angeles. - Accommodation
Students will share a room with another (non French-speaking) participant in a carefully selected host family. Half-board is provided.
