Florida Summer Camp
Our summer camp in Boca Raton, one of the most beautiful cities of the region, is located halfway between Palm Beach and the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. The school is located on a private campus, an ideal environment for learning English. The Boca Raton beaches, city center and commercial district are in the school’s immediate proximity.The program is intended for international students aged 13 to 19. It combines 20 lessons of general English per week and a complete activities program. Optional excursions complete the experience and are offered each weekend for a small additional cost. Courses can last two, three or four weeks.
The excellent staff at our partner school is there to ensure that the young participants enjoy an unforgettable experience in Florida. Supervision and guidance is available 24 hours a day from the moment the student arrives at the airport until the moment he or she returns home.
Please note that this program is not designed for complete beginners.
The School and the Courses
The courses take place in the modern classrooms of Lynn University. Lynn’s lush, 123 acre campus is situated in a residential area, within minutes of beaches, shopping, cultural facilities and fine dining, and enjoys a reputation as one of the safest areas in the United States. The classes run from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday, for a total of 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week. There is a maximum of 15 students per class. The school accepts students with elementary to advanced knowledge of English, but is not suitable for complete beginners.Students have orientation the first Monday after they arrive at 8:00 AM and take a placement exam during this period to determine their level. Each student receives a welcome pack in which they receive a student ID card with their name, along with the address and the telephone number of their residence and the program coordinator.
Accommodation
Students are housed on campus in a shared room with a bathroom. The rooms are equipped with closets, desks and internet access (wifi). They are cleaned weekly. Each floor of the residence has a TV room, a common room and a computer lab.The Activities
The staff organizes activities each afternoon and evening. Examples include sports, team games on the campus or at the beach, a boat excursion in the Everglades, a visit to Miami, or recreational activities, such as shopping, bowling, dancing, or a trip to the pool.The staff also organizes full-day excursions each Saturday and Sunday. These optional excursions can be paid on-location (65 to 135 dollars). These activities include outings to Universal Studios in Orlando, a boat tour and diving, rafting, Bush Gardens in Tampa, the Kennedy Space Center, Sea World Orlando and many more.
